Joyce Chang

Attorney

Joyce Chang has been practicing in the Bay Area since 2014, beginning her practice in general high-stakes litigation before focusing exclusively on family law. She is experienced in counseling clients through all phases of the marital dissolution process, including mediation, settlement, pre-trial litigation, and trial. She is experienced with both federal and state courts, and she was named a SuperLawyers ‘Rising Star’ for the past seven consecutive years in a row (2017 - 2023).

Joyce acknowledges and recognizes the deeply personal nature of family law cases, and is resolutely devoted to minimizing the emotional toll for all parties throughout a case, especially for any children involved. Throughout the span of a case, Joyce is dedicated to listening, connecting, and working together with her client to achieve that client’s individual goals. She is experienced in complex, high-asset dissolution cases including property division, working closely with financial and vocational experts, and negotiating and crafting the global settlement of cases to avoid litigation whenever possible.

Joyce is also experienced with cases involving domestic violence, including successfully taking them through trial. Recognizing the silent prevalence of domestic violence in all regions, including affluent communities such as Silicon Valley, Joyce is committed to treating all her clients with dignity, thoughtfulness, and respect. Joyce is likewise experienced with representing individuals facing wrongful accusations of domestic violence and is dedicated to staunchly advocating on her client’s behalf to protect their interests.

Joyce received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law where she served as an editor on multiple Journals, including the Santa Clara Law Review and the Santa Clara Journal of International Law. She received honorable mentions for both year-end comments, won the Best Brief Award for appellate advocacy, and served as a mentor for incoming women law students through the Women and Law Association. She also interned for the Honorable Judge Socrates Manoukian of Santa Clara County Superior Court.  Additionally, Joyce is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and served as a volunteer translator at a local non-profit dedicated towards providing basic legal rights to Asian immigrants.

In her spare time, Joyce can be found playing the piano, channeling her inner Joanna Gaines with a new DIY-project, or doting (chasing) after her Vizsla rescue puppy, Harrison.
