For nearly 20 years, Jennifer Crum’s practice has focused exclusively on high asset dissolutions involving complex financial issues such as venture capital, hedge fund, private equity, privately held companies, professional practices, and real estate interests. She regularly represents high earners or their spouses on issues related to child and spousal support. She understands the intricacies of compensation in Silicon Valley, including stock options, restricted stock units (RSUs), restricted stock, management fees, and carried interests. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of her practice, she regularly works with forensic accountants, investment advisors, family wealth offices, tax and corporate counsel, and estate planners to achieve the best outcome for her clients.
Jennifer understands that divorce is a highly personal transaction that impacts the client, his or her children, and their financial future in a unique way. Jennifer’s compassionate, hands-on approach allows her clients to develop a case strategy that meets their individual goals. She anticipates the legal and emotional issues inherent in each case, and helps clients understand their choices and the legal issues involved so that they can make informed decisions. Jennifer takes only a handful of cases so that she can give her clients individual attention.
Jennifer is a sophisticated and strategic advocate trained in negotiation. She excels at bringing cases to resolution in an efficient and effective manner that meets her client’s goals. She believes choosing the right process to resolve a client’s case is an important strategic decision. She represents clients in all dispute resolutions forums, whether it is litigation before a private judge or in public courthouses, or through negotiated settlement. Jennifer also frequently acts as a consulting attorney to clients participating in mediation.
Jennifer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). She also serves as a mentor for young attorneys in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties as a leader of the AAML Mentoring Group. She is a Certified Family Law Specialist.
