Harry Hanson co-founded Hanson Crawford Family Law Group, LLP, with Belinda Hanson in January 1997.  He retired on January 1, 2008 and is available on a limited basis for consultations and second opinions.

Harry was a U.S. Navy Trial Lawyer, Judge Advocate General, from 1956 to 1958.  From 1958 to 2008 Harry was in private practice, first doing a general practice and then specializing in family law.

Harry’s family law work has included contested trials, mediation, collaborative law and private judging.  He was admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Supreme Court.

Other Distinctions

Harry was a specialist in family law, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.  He was a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  He served as president of the Northern California Chapter of the AAML in 1985.  Harry has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America each year from 1983 through 2007.  In 1989 he was listed in California Lawyer as one of California’s most respected family law attorneys.  In 2003, the Los Angeles Daily Journal listed Harry among the Top 25 Mediators in the State of California, and The Recorder (San Francisco legal publication) gave him Honorable Mention in their listing of Bay Area’s Top Attorneys.  He was listed as a “Northern California Super Lawyer” in the Northern California Super Lawyers Magazine (2003-2007).  Harry has been a frequent lecturer and panel member at various family law conferences and continuing legal education courses.
