Education

Joe Crawford earned his law degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1994.  He began practice in Portland, Oregon in 1994 in a firm focusing primarily on family law, and in 1998, he joined what was then the Hanson Family Law Group, LLP.  He is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington and California. 

Joe has extensive litigation experience in complex family law matters including cases involving complex marital property issues, complex custody disputes, and spousal and child support.  He represents clients through all phases of family law litigation before both private judges and in public courthouses. He also represents clients in collaborative law and mediation.

Memberships

Joe is a Family Law Specialist, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.  He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  Joe is included in the Best Lawyers in America and is consistently listed as one of the Northern California Super Lawyers by San Francisco Magazine.  He is past chair of the Family Law Section of San Mateo County Bar Association and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the San Mateo County Bar Association.  Joe has been active on various state and county bar and court committees.
